Jaz gets its name from owner Jaz Rupall who was born and raised as second generation British-Indian in Hertfordshire, England. After arriving in the United States, her longing for some home cooking inspired her to open Jaz in Hell’s Kitchen NYC featuring the cuisine of Northern Indian. Leading the kitchen are two chefs - Bachan Rawat (Bukhara Grill) known for his curries and Arif Ahmed (Bombay Grill, Sapphire) to man the tandoor oven.
